ROI Medical Records Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kentucky, +3 more states.

📋 Description

• Process Release of Information (ROI) requests for healthcare clients.

• Evaluate requestor information in compliance with HIPAA guidelines.

• Securely retrieve relevant patient data from client EHR systems and authorized electronic sources.

• Address phone calls, emails, and secure messages from requesters regarding ROI matters.

• Prioritize and process requests from physician offices when necessary.

• Transmit requested information securely through electronic delivery or eFax.

• Log medical record requests into Exchange Manager.

• Upload and index electronic medical records within Exchange Manager.

• Adhere to MRO and client facility policies, regulations, HIPAA privacy and security requirements, as well as remote work and information security policies.

• Engage in virtual meetings and training sessions.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED is required.

• Previous experience in Release of Information within a physician's office or HIM Department is advantageous.

• Proficient in using computer applications and web-based systems.

• One or more years of experience entering data into computer systems.

• Experience using the internet is essential.

• Ability to work independently in a remote setting, effectively manage time, and achieve production targets.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Experience in responding to customer inquiries via phone, email, and virtual platforms.

• Exceptional attention to detail.

• Demonstrated reliability.

• Familiarity with medical terminology is a plus.

• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations is preferred.

• Must reside and work in Kentucky, Mississippi, New Mexico, or Texas.

• Reliable high-speed internet connection.

• Use MRO-approved equipment and secure access methods, such as VPN and multi-factor authentication.
