Risk Assessor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Perform thorough risk assessments of cooling towers, potable water systems, irrigation systems, and ornamental water features.

• Identify potential hazards such as Legionella bacteria, chemical contamination, equipment malfunctions, and violations of regulations.

• Assess the probability and possible consequences of risks associated with water systems.

• Ensure that water treatment initiatives adhere to EPA standards, OSHA regulations, and industry-specific protocols.

• Keep up-to-date with regulations regarding water quality and best practices within the industry.

• Prepare documentation and reports for regulatory inspections and audits.

• Analyze water quality test results and data from treatment programs.

• Detect trends or irregularities and suggest corrective measures.

• Design and implement risk mitigation strategies and control measures.

• Develop water safety plans and emergency response guidelines.

• Propose upgrades for equipment, changes to treatment methods, or operational adjustments.

• Create risk assessment reports for clients and stakeholders.

• Present findings and recommendations to facility management teams.

• Offer training and advice on best practices for water safety management.

• Collaborate with water treatment technicians, facility engineers, environmental health and safety personnel, client representatives, external labs, consultants, and regulatory bodies.

⛳️ Requirements

• 2–5 years of experience in water treatment, facility management, environmental health and safety, or a related discipline.

• Prior experience in conducting risk assessments or audits is preferred.

• Understanding of water chemistry is essential.

• Knowledge of microbiology, particularly in relation to Legionella control.

• Familiarity with water treatment technologies and HVAC systems.

• Understanding of risk assessment methodologies and regulatory frameworks.

• Relevant certifications such as Certified Water Technologist (CWT), Certified Legionella Professional (CLP), or similar qualifications are highly desirable.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Keen attention to detail.

• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
