Data Governance Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.

📋 Description

• Drive comprehensive data governance across the enterprise to ensure clear ownership, accountability, and decision-making.

• Establish and integrate a federated data ownership model throughout various business domains.

• Lead the strategy, standards, and controls for Master Data Management (MDM).

• Support the transformation of SAP S/4HANA by ensuring that data is governed, cleansed, validated, and ready for migration.

• Develop governance frameworks that facilitate reliable reporting, analytics, and data products.

• Oversee data quality, control processes, issue management, and continuous improvement initiatives.

• Ensure that governance decisions are documented and communicated to promote transparency and auditability.

• Collaborate with technology, security, and risk teams to uphold compliance with regulatory and information security requirements.

• Identify, evaluate, and mitigate data-related risks associated with transformation and business initiatives.

• Serve as a trusted advisor on data governance, offering guidance, assurance, and best practices throughout the organization.

• Lead a small yet impactful team, providing direction and oversight.

• Shape and advance the organization’s data governance agenda.

• Integrate governance into daily decision-making processes and assist in unlocking the value of data.

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated leadership abilities, with experience in coaching teams and facilitating organizational change.

• Proven track record in leading data governance initiatives within large-scale transformation programs, including ERP or SAP S/4HANA.

• Strong expertise in Master Data Management (MDM), data standards, and governance frameworks.

• Experience in establishing data ownership, stewardship, and accountability across business functions.

• Practical experience with data cataloging, metadata management, and data lineage tools such as Alation, Collibra, or similar.

• Excellent stakeholder management capabilities, with the skill to influence senior leaders and foster strong cross-functional relationships.

• Fluent in English.

• Outstanding communication skills.

• Ability to effectively collaborate with stakeholders across various teams, markets, and cultures.

• A collaborative approach to working with both business and technology teams.

• Experience in supporting SAP S/4HANA data migration and enhancing data quality is advantageous.

• Knowledge of regulatory, risk, compliance, and data privacy requirements pertinent to data governance is beneficial.
