Risk Adjustment Medical Record Coder – 2

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Tennessee.

📋 Description

• Ensure adherence to CMS risk adjustment diagnosis coding regulations.

• Conduct thorough first-pass evaluations of medical records and physician assessment documents for HCC coding.

• Recognize and document active conditions that correspond to risk values.

• Support the intake and quality assurance processes of medical records as required.

• Execute or engage in special projects as instructed by management.

• Collaborate effectively in a remote setting, participating in team discussions and providing support to colleagues.

• Utilize AI-driven tools responsibly, following established workflows, templates, and policies.

⛳️ Requirements

• An associate degree or equivalent work experience is required; equivalent experience is classified as 2 years of professional work experience.

• A minimum of 1 year of progressive experience in medical coding and healthcare is necessary.

• A professional coding certification from AHIMA or AAPC (CPC, CCS, RHIT, RHIA) is required.

• Must obtain the Certified Risk Adjustment Coder (CRC) certificate from AAPC within a year after completing training.

• An ICD-10 Coding assessment is mandatory.

• Capability to work independently with limited supervision or to collaborate in a team environment sharing responsibilities, roles, and accountability.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) is essential.

• Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capability to undertake non-routine analytical tasks.

• Ability to manage multiple projects; must be organized and team-oriented.

• Exceptional oral and written communication skills are required.

• Strong interpersonal and organizational capabilities are necessary.

• A solid understanding of ICD-10 coding standards is required.

• Must be able to work standard shift hours, from 8 am to 5 pm ET.
