Revenue Cycle Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.

📋 Description

• Prepare and submit claims for physicians and clinics to third-party insurance providers, either electronically or via hard copy billing.

• Obtain necessary medical documentation required or requested by third-party insurers.

• Follow up with third-party insurance companies regarding unpaid claims until they are resolved or only a self-pay balance remains.

• Address rejections by making accounts private and generating rejection letters to patients, or by correcting billing errors and resubmitting claims.

• Collaborate with physicians or medical record staff to ensure accurate reporting of diagnoses and procedures.

• Guarantee proper documentation and charge entry for patient charges.

• Stay informed about updates in billing and insurance regulations.

• Monitor claims for any missing information and authorization/control numbers.

• Uphold the clinic's mission, vision, values, standards, policies, procedures, confidentiality standards, and ethical practices.

• Maintain logs for third-party billing.

• Ensure documentation meets the requirements of regulatory agencies and adheres to best practices.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.

• Must be self-motivated and capable of self-direction.

• Proficient in computer skills, including Microsoft Office.

• Knowledge of billing software is preferred.

• A Bachelor's degree in accounting, health care administration, finance, business, or a related field is preferred.

• A minimum of 2 years of prior experience as a medical biller or in a comparable healthcare administrative role is preferred.
