Revenue Cycle Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.

📋 Description

• Prepare and submit claims for physicians and clinics to third-party insurance carriers through electronic means or traditional billing methods.

• Obtain necessary medical documentation that is required or requested by third-party insurance providers.

• Follow up diligently with third-party insurance carriers regarding unpaid claims until payment is received or only the self-pay balance remains.

• Address rejections by making accounts private and generating a rejection letter for the patient, or rectify billing errors and resubmit claims as needed.

• Collaborate with physicians or medical record personnel to confirm accurate reporting of diagnoses and procedures.

• Ensure proper documentation and entry of patient charges.

• Stay informed about changes in billing and insurance policies.

• Monitor claims for any missing information and authorization or control numbers.

• Exhibit knowledge of and support the clinic's mission, vision, values, standards, policies, procedures, operating instructions, confidentiality standards, and ethical behavior code.

• Maintain logs for third-party billing.

• Ensure documentation meets regulatory agency requirements and adheres to best practices.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.

• Must be self-motivated and capable of self-direction.

• Proficient in computer skills, including Microsoft Office.

• Knowledge of billing software is preferred.

• A Bachelor’s degree in accounting, healthcare administration, finance, business, or a related field is preferred.

• A minimum of 2 years of prior experience as a medical biller or in a similar healthcare administrative role is preferred.
