Revenue Cycle Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.

📋 Description

• Prepare and submit claims for physicians and clinics to third-party insurance carriers, utilizing both electronic and hard copy billing methods.

• Obtain necessary medical documentation as required or requested by third-party insurance providers.

• Follow up with third-party insurance carriers regarding unpaid claims until payment is received or only self-pay balances remain.

• Address claim rejections by making accounts private and generating rejection letters, or by correcting billing errors and resubmitting claims.

• Collaborate with physicians or medical record staff to ensure accurate reporting of diagnoses and procedures.

• Guarantee proper documentation and entry of patient charges.

• Stay informed about changes in billing and insurance practices.

• Monitor claims for any missing information and authorization/control numbers.

• Uphold the clinic's mission, vision, values, standards, policies, procedures, confidentiality standards, and ethical conduct.

• Maintain logs for third-party billing.

• Ensure that documentation adheres to regulatory agency requirements and best practices.

⛳️ Requirements

• A High School Diploma or equivalent is required.

• Must be self-motivated and able to work independently.

• Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office, are essential.

• Familiarity with billing software is preferred.

• A Bachelor’s degree in accounting, healthcare administration, finance, business, or a related field is preferred.

• A minimum of 2 years’ experience as a medical biller or in a related healthcare administrative role is preferred.
