Revenue and Billing Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North America.

📋 Description

• Manage the complete customer billing process, encompassing invoicing, subscription modifications, payment inquiries, refunds, recovery of failed payments, credit notes, and corrections within set approval limits.

• Collaborate with the Customer Success team on intricate or sensitive billing matters.

• Oversee accounts receivable, collections, and dunning processes using Upflow.

• Address failed payments and billing disputes directly with customers.

• Detect root causes of recurring billing challenges and enhance the underlying processes.

• Manage reconciliations across billing, payments, subscription reporting, and the ledger.

• Clarify timing and definition discrepancies between financial data.

• Generate reporting and analysis on MRR/ARR movements.

• Enhance and implement Finance automations related to accounts receivable, billing, and reporting.

• Transition routine tasks towards exception-based processing.

• Assist with billing platform, pricing, and packaging modifications from a Finance standpoint.

• Define requirements, test results, and monitor exceptions.

• Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams on technical adjustments.

• Work closely with the Head of Finance and Senior Financial Controller within a streamlined Finance team.

⛳️ Requirements

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English.

• Minimum of 5 hours daily overlap with the UK-based Finance team.

• Proven experience in personally managing customer billing and accounts receivable or collections.

• Experience in investigating billing exceptions and resolving issues to completion.

• Proven ability to address complex customer billing or payment issues directly with clients.

• Experience with customer billing in a subscription or recurring revenue model.

• Strong reconciliation skills and capability to analyze discrepancies between financial or customer datasets.

• Proficient in Excel or Google Sheets.

• Experience in enhancing a recurring Finance process.

• Comfortable utilizing AI and automation to minimize manual tasks while ensuring accuracy.

• Typically, candidates in this role will have a minimum of four years of relevant experience.
