Insurance Billing Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Assess claims that are currently on hold, identify underlying issues, and resolve obstacles preventing their release.

• Resolve claims marked as paid by retrieving deposit information.

• Conduct basic credentialing updates with insurance providers.

• Examine patient accounts with multiple transports to ensure accurate coordination of benefits.

• Manage EMS lockbox communications, including denial EOBs, patient invoices, and requests from attorneys.

• Accurately document findings and actions in the relevant systems while adhering to HIPAA regulations and internal quality standards.

• Contact insurance companies via phone to gather claim status and deposit details.

• Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School Diploma or its equivalent is required.

• Proficient computer skills with a fundamental understanding of MS Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.

• Minimum typing speed of 40 words per minute.

• Capacity to manage high volumes of work while adhering to tight deadlines.

• Familiarity with insurance claims and a comfortable approach to handling them.

• Ability to calmly and effectively manage situations via telephone while maintaining and enhancing a positive company image.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

• Capability to present information and solutions in a professional and courteous manner.

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

• Skill in organizing and prioritizing tasks to ensure completion of all assigned work.

• Ability to independently oversee all aspects of the job role, including meeting required goals and adhering to business practices, in a remote setting.

• Capability to talk, hear, and see clearly for reading and interpreting information.

• Regular utilization of a computer, phone, and standard office equipment.

• Ability to safeguard confidential information.

• Capacity to perform job duties in a professional environment that is free from distractions or anything that could negatively impact the customer experience.
