This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Deliver financial analysis, oversight, and control to various business units within Curtiss Wright Controls Defense Solutions.
• Execute revenue recognition for customer contracts, concentrating on project-related revenue analysis, documentation, reporting, and forecasting utilizing percentage-of-completion recognition.
• Conduct monthly reviews of general ledger account reconciliations for revenue-related accounts and project data reconciliations.
• Liaise with Business Unit Controllers and Program Managers regarding estimated costs at completion, assumptions, incurred costs, budgets, and forecasts.
• Present revenue data and variance analysis to business unit leaders, Controllers, Program Managers, and senior management.
• Compile and review reporting packages for Corporate pertaining to revenue and project-related financial information.
• Draft memos and checklists for customer contracts in compliance with US GAAP.
• Facilitate revenue recognition and enhancements in project processes.
• Assist with both internal and external audits, including Sarbanes-Oxley self-assessment and compliance.
• Provide assistance with budgeting and forecasting as required.
• Conduct ad hoc reporting and analysis.
• Fulfill general accounting and finance tasks as necessary.
• Offer backup and support for other members of the finance team.
• Post-secondary diploma or degree in Accounting and/or Business from a college or university.
• Professional Accounting Designation is highly desirable.
• Audit experience with a large firm is considered an asset.
• 5–7 years of relevant experience, preferably in a manufacturing or high-technology environment, or a combination thereof.
• Strong understanding of US GAAP or IFRS along with general and cost accounting principles and practices.
• Exceptional Excel skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
• Experience in revenue/cost analysis and audits is a valuable asset.
• Outstanding analytical skills, including data analysis, significance understanding, and issue explanation.
• Capability to take initiative and propose solutions and process improvements.
• Ability to work efficiently as an individual contributor and as part of a team.
• Proficient at collaborating with cross-functional teams, adhering to procedures, and utilizing system tools.
• Strong technical skills, including proficiency in integrated ERP systems, preferably S4 HANA/SAP.
• Willingness to embrace change and enthusiasm for continuous improvement.
• Position may necessitate exposure to export-controlled information and additional security screening.
