This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Prepare, analyze, and reconcile schedules related to revenue, invoices, deferred revenue, accounts receivable activities, and general ledger balances.
• Assist in monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processes, which include researching variances and compiling supporting documentation.
• Examine customer agreements, billing terms, and transaction data to pinpoint issues affecting revenue treatment, billing, or reporting.
• Aid in the application of GAAP and ASC 606 principles in accordance with company policies and procedures.
• Conduct tie-outs for invoice-to-contract, invoice-to-ledger, and subledger-to-general-ledger; investigate and resolve discrepancies.
• Create and sustain audit-ready workpapers and documentation.
• Generate recurring revenue reports and dashboards for Finance and business leaders.
• Analyze actual results against budget, forecasts, prior periods, and operational drivers; clarify significant variances.
• Track revenue-related KPIs such as billings, collections, deferred revenue, contract activity, renewal activity, revenue leakage indicators, and days-to-close.
• Collaborate with FP&A and operational stakeholders on forecasts, budgets, business reviews, and management reporting.
• Convert complex data into insights and recommendations for both finance and non-finance audiences.
• Conduct ad hoc analyses to address business inquiries and support strategic initiatives.
• Identify issues related to data, billing, and workflows; quantify impacts and suggest corrective measures.
• Maintain internal controls, standard operating procedures, data definitions, and process documentation.
• Enhance recurring processes through templates, reconciliations, automation, reporting logic, and quality checks.
• Participate in enhancements of ERP, billing, reporting, or workflows.
• Utilize approved AI-enabled tools and automation while safeguarding confidential information.
• Take ownership or co-ownership of finance projects from inception to completion.
• Coordinate with Sales, Operations, Legal, FP&A, Accounting, and external partners.
• Assist with both external and internal audit requests through resolution.
• Become a subject-matter expert on revenue data, schedules, and processes.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Analytics, or a related field; equivalent relevant experience may be accepted.
• Two or more years of experience in accounting, revenue accounting, financial analysis, audit, or a similar finance role.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Proficient understanding of GAAP accounting concepts, including accruals, reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reporting.
• Strong skills in Excel or Google Sheets, including pivot tables, lookups, conditional logic, data cleanup, and financial analysis.
• Ability to reconcile data, investigate variances, identify root causes, and clearly communicate findings.
• Excellent organizational skills and follow-through, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills, comfortable interacting with both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
• High standards for accuracy, confidentiality, documentation, and internal control practices.
• Reliable internet connection and a designated work environment suitable for professional calls and confidential information.
• Preferred: Experience with the application or support of ASC 606 revenue recognition.
• Preferred: Familiarity with NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, or another ERP/accounting system.
• Preferred: Experience in revenue reporting, billing operations, accounts receivable, deferred revenue, contract analysis, or close management.
• Preferred: Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or another reporting/analytics tool.
• Preferred: Experience in managing cross-functional projects, system enhancements, automation efforts, or process redesign.
• Preferred: Experience in healthcare, insurance, insurtech, SaaS, technology-enabled services, or another business with complex contracts and multiple revenue streams.
• Preferred: CPA, CPA-track status, or progress toward another relevant certification.
• Preferred: Familiarity with approved AI or automation tools used to enhance finance workflows.
