This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +13 more states.
• Collaborate with clients to gather essential information for annual reporting.
• Assess client-submitted documentation for thoroughness and precision.
• Reconcile plans that involve only rollovers and plan stock utilizing Excel and administration software.
• Employ administration software to perform 401(k) testing and reporting.
• Conduct outgoing reminder calls and dispatch emails throughout the plan-year reporting process.
• Prepare mandatory 401(k) government filings, including IRS Form 5500, using filing software.
• Inform clients about 401(k) plan administration and associated documents.
• Convey knowledge and simplify complex topics for better understanding.
• Provide training on concepts for a Retirement Plan Administrator I.
• Execute additional responsibilities as needed.
• Experience in document review and transaction processing as part of daily job functions.
• 1 to 5 years of related back-office financial operations experience in benefits administration, money movement and wires, insurance claims processing, tax preparation processing, loan or mortgage document processing, or compliance or quality-control support.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook is essential.
• Direct experience in retirement-plan operations, particularly 401(k) or IRA administration, recordkeeping, distributions and rollovers, compliance testing, or 5500 or year-end reporting, is preferred.
• Preference for candidates with daily job responsibilities involving reconciliation.
• An Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as business or finance, or equivalent professional experience, is preferred.
• Basic understanding of 401(k) plan structure, ROBS, and IRS/DOL regulations is advantageous.
