This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +13 more states.
• Gather essential information from clients to facilitate the preparation of annual reports.
• Assess documents submitted by clients for thoroughness and accuracy.
• Utilize Excel and administrative software to reconcile plans with rollovers and plan stock.
• Employ administration software for conducting 401(k) testing and reporting.
• Initiate reminder calls and send emails throughout the plan-year reporting process.
• Generate necessary 401(k) government filings, including IRS Form 5500, using filing software.
• Provide clients with education on 401(k) plan administration and associated documents.
• Convey knowledge effectively and simplify complex topics for client understanding.
• Conduct training on concepts pertinent to a Retirement Plan Administrator I.
• Execute additional duties as needed.
• Background in document review and transaction processing as part of daily job duties.
• 1 to 5 years of relevant back-office financial operations experience in areas such as benefits administration, money movement and wires, insurance claims processing, tax preparation processing, loan or mortgage document processing, or compliance and quality-control support.
• Competence in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Direct experience in retirement-plan operations, including 401(k) or IRA administration, recordkeeping, distributions and rollovers, compliance testing, or 5500 or year-end reporting, is preferred.
• Preferred experience with reconciliation as a routine job responsibility.
• Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in a related field, such as business or finance, or equivalent work experience is preferred.
• Basic understanding of 401(k) plan structure, ROBS, and IRS/DOL regulations is preferred.
