This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +13 more states.
• Collaborate with clients to gather essential information for annual reporting.
• Assess client-submitted documents for thoroughness and accuracy.
• Reconcile plans that involve only rollovers and plan stock utilizing Excel and administration software.
• Utilize administration software to perform 401(k) testing and reporting.
• Conduct reminder calls and send emails to clients throughout the plan-year reporting period.
• Prepare mandatory 401(k) government filings, such as IRS Form 5500, using filing software.
• Provide education to clients regarding 401(k) plan administration and relevant plan documents.
• Convey knowledge and simplify complex topics for better understanding.
• Train on concepts pertinent to a Retirement Plan Administrator I.
• Carry out additional required responsibilities.
• Experience in document review and transaction processing as part of daily job functions.
• 1 to 5 years of relevant back-office financial operations experience in areas such as benefits administration, money movement and wires, insurance claims processing, tax preparation processing, loan or mortgage document processing, or compliance or quality-control support.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• An associate’s or bachelor’s degree in a related field like business or finance, or equivalent work experience, is preferred.
• Direct experience in retirement-plan operations, including 401(k) or IRA administration, recordkeeping, distributions, rollovers, compliance testing, or 5500 and year-end reporting, is preferred.
• Familiarity with reconciliation as a daily job responsibility is preferred.
• Basic understanding of 401(k) plan structure, ROBS, and IRS/DOL regulations is preferred.
