This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +13 more states.
• Acquire comprehensive knowledge of the administration, testing, and reporting processes for 401(k) plans through accelerated learning, training, and hands-on experience.
• Evaluate client-submitted documentation for thoroughness and precision.
• Collaborate with clients to gather necessary information for annual reporting.
• Keep clients informed proactively regarding the status of their reporting.
• Reconcile plans that involve only rollovers and plan stock utilizing Excel and administration software.
• Leverage administration software to conduct 401(k) testing and reporting.
• Make outbound reminder calls and send emails throughout the plan-year reporting cycle.
• Prepare mandatory 401(k) government filings, including IRS Form 5500, using filing software.
• Provide education to clients on 401(k) plan administration and related documents.
• Share insights and simplify complex topics for better understanding.
• Undergo training on concepts relevant to a Retirement Plan Administrator I.
• Execute additional responsibilities as needed.
• Experience in document review and transaction processing as part of daily responsibilities.
• 1 to 5 years of relevant back-office financial operations experience in areas such as benefits administration, money movement and wires, insurance claims processing, tax preparation processing, loan or mortgage document processing, or compliance and quality-control support.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook is essential.
• Preferred direct experience in retirement-plan operations, including 401(k) or IRA administration, recordkeeping, distributions and rollovers, compliance testing, or 5500 or year-end reporting.
• Experience with reconciliation as a regular job function is preferred.
• An associate’s or bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as business or finance, or equivalent professional experience, is preferred.
• Basic understanding of 401(k) plan structure, ROBS, and IRS/DOL regulations is preferred.
