This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +13 more states.
• Collaborate with clients to gather essential information for annual reporting.
• Assess client-submitted documents for completeness and accuracy.
• Reconcile plans involving only rollovers and plan stock utilizing Excel and administration software.
• Employ administration software to carry out 401(k) testing and reporting.
• Make proactive reminder calls and send emails throughout the plan-year reporting process.
• Prepare necessary 401(k) government filings, including IRS Form 5500, using filing software.
• Inform clients about 401(k) plan administration and plan documents.
• Convey knowledge and simplify complex topics for better understanding.
• Provide training on concepts for a Retirement Plan Administrator I.
• Carry out additional duties as required.
• Experience in document review and transaction processing as part of daily responsibilities.
• 1 to 5 years of relevant back-office financial operations experience in benefits administration, money movement and wires, insurance claims processing, tax preparation, loan or mortgage document processing, or compliance or quality-control support.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Direct experience in retirement-plan operations, including 401(k) or IRA administration, recordkeeping, distributions and rollovers, compliance testing, or 5500 or year-end reporting, is preferred.
• Preferred experience with reconciliation as a daily job responsibility.
• An associate’s or bachelor’s degree in a related field such as business or finance, or equivalent work experience, is preferred.
• Basic understanding of 401(k) plan structure, ROBS, and IRS/DOL regulations is preferred.
