Retail Crime Investigator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Investigate and address incidents of external theft, including shoplifting and organized retail crime.

• Collect, analyze, and assess intelligence regarding individuals and groups involved in organized retail crime.

• Carefully document information to ensure successful prosecution.

• Offer guidance to store Asset Protection teams on investigative strategies.

• Operate the store's CCTV system.

• Carry out undercover surveillance operations.

• Act as a liaison between Weis Markets and various local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies.

• Refer cases to law enforcement for prosecution purposes.

• Professionally represent Weis Markets in court hearings and mediations.

• Manage scheduling and time effectively to meet the needs of the company.

• Travel to multiple locations to provide investigative assistance.

• Collaborate with Store Management and associates to safeguard company assets.

• Offer support to stores during major business disruptions such as robberies, protests, and natural disasters.

• This position does not include direct supervisory responsibilities.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in Criminal Justice, Criminology, Business, or a related field is preferred.

• A minimum of one (1) year of experience in retail loss prevention within a retail store environment.

• Capability to perform each essential duty effectively.

• Availability to work evenings, weekends, and occasional overnight shifts.

• Willingness to travel to multiple locations within an assigned area.
