Retail Crime Investigator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Conduct investigations and resolve cases of external theft, including shoplifting and Organized Retail Crime.

• Collect, analyze, and assess intelligence regarding individuals and groups engaged in organized retail crime.

• Meticulously document all information collected to facilitate successful legal prosecution.

• Offer guidance to store Asset Protection teams concerning investigative strategies.

• Operate the store's CCTV monitoring system.

• Carry out undercover surveillance operations.

• Serve as a liaison between Weis Markets and local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies.

• Refer cases to law enforcement authorities for prosecution.

• Professionally represent Weis Markets in court proceedings and mediations.

• Travel to various locations within a designated area to provide investigative assistance.

• Collaborate with Store Management and associates to safeguard company assets.

• Assist stores during major business interruptions, including robbery incidents, protests, and natural disasters.

• Please note that this position does not involve direct supervision of associates.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in Criminal Justice, Criminology, Business, or a related discipline is preferred.

• Minimum of one (1) year of retail loss prevention experience in a retail environment.

• Capability to perform each essential duty effectively.

• Proficiency in managing time and scheduling, including availability on evenings, weekends, and occasional overnight shifts.

• Willingness to travel to multiple locations within an assigned area.
