This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
β’ Serve as the principal fee earner for a diverse array of residential property transactions, which encompass freehold and leasehold sales and purchases, remortgages, equity transfers, new build dealings, shared ownership, and mixed-use matters; oversee cases from initial instruction through post-completion registration and file closure in line with the firm's protocols.
β’ Deliver clear, practical, and commercially informed legal counsel to clients, lenders, estate agents, and other involved parties; draft, review, and negotiate contracts, transfer deeds, leases, mortgages, and associated documentation utilizing firm precedents and tailored drafting as necessary.
β’ Conduct, interpret, and provide advice on searches, pre-contract inquiries, title reports, leases, and leasehold management packs; pinpoint and address title, leasehold, restrictive covenant, and indemnity issues while escalating or instructing counsel when appropriate.
β’ Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, including anti-money laundering checks, client identification, conflict checks, file audits, and data protection; perform and document essential file reviews to guarantee compliance with the firm's standards.
β’ Offer technical guidance and oversight to junior fee earners and support staff; assess and approve their work, assist in training, and contribute to the continuous enhancement of precedents, templates, and team processes.
β’ Qualified solicitor or chartered legal executive with demonstrated post-qualification experience in residential property/conveyancing; typically a minimum of 4 yearsβ PQE, depending on the seniority of the role.
β’ Proven ability to independently manage a diverse caseload and handle complex or high-value transactions, including leasehold and mixed-use matters.
β’ Exceptional drafting, negotiation, and attention to detail in the preparation of contracts, completion statements, and client correspondence.
β’ Strong working knowledge of Land Registry processes, SDLT, leasehold legislation, and common title issues; confident in addressing indemnities and title rectification as needed.
β’ Proficient in Microsoft Office and experienced with case management and document management systems; capable of learning new systems and contributing to enhanced workflows.
β’ Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, maintaining a professional demeanor when interacting with clients, lenders, estate agents, managing agents, and third parties; skilled in handling sensitive issues with tact and discretion.
β’ Well-organized, commercially aware, and capable of prioritizing competing demands to meet deadlines; possess strong problem-solving abilities and a collaborative spirit while also being able to work independently.
β’ Committed to understanding and adhering to regulatory and compliance obligations, including confidentiality, anti-money laundering, and data protection requirements.
