Resident Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Advise customers on best practices as a 'Trusted Advisor'

• Recognize trends within the customer’s technical environment, organizational structures, or priorities

• Communicate key customer insights to internal teams

• Collaborate across various functions including Sales Engineering, Customer Success, Product, Marketing, and Channel teams

• Drive customer impact

• Report to the AlgoSec Resident Engineers Manager

• Engage with customers located in the EMEA region, primarily in Germany

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a comparable role within a software company

• Proficiency in Linux/UNIX environments

• Experience with networking devices such as switches and routers

• Background in firewall administration and configuration, including Checkpoint, Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet, Palo Alto, etc.

• Familiarity with Cloud platforms and managing Cloud Security

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in both German and English

• Capability to perform under pressure in deadline-driven situations and business emergencies

• Experience interacting with Global customers

• Customer-focused with the ability to build trust

• Problem-solver, results-oriented, demonstrating a proactive attitude, and attention to detail

• Team-oriented, enjoyable to collaborate with, possessing a high level of integrity, and a quick learner

• Skill in identifying and escalating signals for revenue-driving adoption or expansion

• Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time, working on-site with AlgoSec customers in ANZ/SEA

• Knowledge of Linux scripting: Perl/Python/shell (preferred)

• Understanding of APIs (Java, REST) (preferred)

• Familiarity with virtual routing and Software-defined networking (preferred)
