This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio, +1 more state.
• Provide leadership in the technical design of hardware and software for industrial projects.
• Create design packages for bidding and construction purposes.
• Oversee and implement the design and programming of PLC/DCS, HMI, VFD, and servo motion projects, from hardware design to software integration and construction start-up.
• Coordinate efforts in electrical engineering and lead design/CAD teams.
• Deliver hardware and software solutions for machine design initiatives within consumer products and general industrial sectors.
• Assist in project-related documentation, including schedules, specifications, and cost estimates.
• Generate high-quality project deliverables in a collaborative team setting.
• Collect data and offer installation, start-up, and troubleshooting support.
• Work concurrently on multiple project teams and client engagements.
• Address and assist with project and client inquiries related to ongoing controls troubleshooting, including support for production equipment during nights and weekends.
• Interact directly with clients on a daily basis to comprehend and respond to their requirements.
• Build client relationships and nurture future work possibilities with clients and facilities.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, or a two- or four-year technology degree complemented by equivalent technical training or experience.
• Over 10 years of pertinent engineering/design experience within manufacturing environments.
• Proficient in troubleshooting complex projects.
• Familiarity with industrial intelligent linear actuators and end effectors.
• Knowledge in integrating machine vision technologies.
• Experience with Rockwell ControlLogix-based PLC and FTView HMI hardware and software.
• Proficient with Rockwell PowerFlex VFDs and inverter-duty motors.
• Familiarity with Rockwell Kinetix servo drives and motors.
• Experience with Ethernet and Ethernet/IP networking.
• Proficient in electrical system design schematics and control panel layout design.
• Experienced in developing construction and installation documentation.
• Recent experience with sensing technologies and panel design/layout.
• Recent experience in producing engineering construction and bid packages following employer/client standards.
• Recent experience with flow control valves, damper actuators, P&IDs, loop configurations, DCS, thermocouples, level, flow, and temperature controls.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred, or the ability to obtain it within 24 months of the start date.
• Knowledge of ISO 13849-1 and RIA 15.06 safety standards and risk assessments preferred.
• Preferred experience with robotics, vision systems, 3D scanners, AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, MES/database programming, SQL, RS-SQL, MS Access, polymer extrusion or adhesive systems, Siemens S7 and TIA Portal PLCs and HMIs, Siemens or Schneider/Modicon PLCs, Siemens/CH/Schneider HMIs, Visual Basic, Visual Basic.NET, Visual C, C#, C++, XML, assembly language programming, and packaging line integration.
