Research Program Administrator – Center for Research and Reform in Education

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland.

📋 Description

• Direct and oversee operations of a multifaceted research program that includes various studies, external partners, internal collaborators, and national as well as international networks.

• Offer leadership, team development, strategic planning, process enhancement, regulatory adherence, financial planning, and management.

• Manage complex and/or multiple studies on behalf of principal investigators.

• Engage in scientific discussions and make autonomous decisions regarding research objectives and study design.

• Work alongside principal investigators and assist research staff in protocol development and study design.

• Monitor the activities of both internal and external research team members and collaborators.

• Create, prepare, and submit grant and contract proposals.

• Enable efficient study operations with investigators, collaborators, and staff.

• Supervise study budgets, costs, expenditures, and project expenditure tracking.

• Establish and implement monitoring, reporting, and quality assurance systems.

• Guarantee program quality, research fidelity, and compliance with goals and timelines.

• Conduct or oversee statistical analyses for reports, manuscripts, and quality assurance documents.

• Design strategies for data acquisition, collection, and analysis.

• Set up data collection and analysis systems while ensuring adherence to study-specific procedures.

• Address study or data management challenges to maintain research validity.

• Create and maintain systems for tracking activities.

• Supervise and provide support to research staff.

• Generate reports for funders, manuscripts for peer-reviewed journals, and presentations for internal and professional meetings.

• Compile detailed client reports summarizing findings and recommending enhancements to programs, policies, and follow-up research.

• Report to principal investigators and collaborate with them and the research team.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.

• Eight years of pertinent research experience.

• Experience in a supervisory or leadership role.

• Additional education may replace required experience, and extra related experience may substitute for required education beyond a high school diploma/graduation equivalent, in accordance with the JHU equivalency formula.

• Preferred: Master's Degree in a related discipline.

• Proficiency in applied statistics commonly utilized in educational research, especially hierarchical linear modeling and multivariate analyses.

• Expertise in technical and scholarly writing, particularly within educational contexts.

• Experience with statistical software such as Stata, R, SAS, or SPSS.

• Proven ability to manage and lead multiple projects concurrently.

• Preferred: PhD in education or a related field.

• Advanced skills in data management and analysis, financial project management, oral and written communication, process improvement, program management, regulatory compliance, report writing, research design, and strategic program management.

• Successful applicant subject to a pre-employment background check.
