Research and Innovation Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Lead and execute research and innovation initiatives in hair biology, focusing on new targets, biological mechanisms of action (MOAs), and underlying causes.

• Identify and collaborate with laboratories and external partners for in silico analytical testing, in vitro, omics, and ex vivo studies.

• Direct the experimental design, work plans, data analysis, and reporting processes.

• Create presentations, scientific posters, and manuscripts suitable for publication.

• Monitor laboratory project progress, timelines, deadlines, and potential obstacles.

• Develop action plans, requests for proposals (RFPs), and statements of work (SOWs) for new initiatives.

• Coordinate the logistics of labs, samples, supplies, documents, items, and shipments.

• Communicate updates on project progress with both internal and external stakeholders.

• Enhance understanding of internal laboratory and company processes as well as databases.

• Maintain systematic records and data management for reporting purposes.

• Foster trusted relationships across various functions.

• Address inquiries via phone, email, and in-person interactions.

• Participate in meetings to assess data validity, methodologies, and laboratory procedures.

• Analyze data using statistical methods and present findings in diverse formats.

• Share research methodologies with researchers from other laboratories.

• Keep track of research techniques, methodologies, literature, and intellectual property.

• Supervise investigator and laboratory performance.

• Oversee the initiation, revision, completion, and maintenance of research proposals.

• Assist in managing project documentation files and internal databases.

⛳️ Requirements

• PhD preferred; a Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in Biology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Nutrition, or a related field is also preferred.

• Over 3 years of industry experience with expertise in cell and molecular biology is preferred.

• Knowledge of dermatological and/or hair biology is advantageous.

• Required academic and/or industry experience in early-stage research.

• Familiarity with hair models, relevant cell types, co-cultures, organoids, biomarkers, omics, and appropriate preclinical (in vitro & ex vivo) models is desirable.

• A track record of publications, patents, or external presentations, along with experience in preparing scientific presentations.

• Experience with in vitro and ex vivo research activities related to assessing bioactives used in dietary supplements and/or topical/personal care products is a plus.

• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills are essential.

• Strong organizational skills and experience in R&D project management are important.

• Attention to detail with the ability to complete tasks accurately and on time is crucial.

• Must demonstrate initiative and the ability to collaborate effectively within a high-performing team while also working independently.

• Proven capability to learn new skills swiftly and adapt to new processes with ease.

• Experience in open innovation is an advantage.
