This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado.
• Act as the main point of contact for development, bid assistance, and/or preliminary (0%-30%) design of PV, BESS, and Wind projects.
• Design PV, BESS, and Wind systems across all regions of the United States.
• Serve as the intermediary between the solar design team and both internal and external stakeholders.
• Provide initial PV, BESS, and/or Wind designs (0-30%).
• Fulfill technical specifications set by clients and/or owners.
• Generate constraint files to assess initial project viability.
• Develop layouts for solar, PV, or wind projects.
• Execute preliminary cable and DC design.
• Conduct initial civil grading and drainage assessments.
• Supply high-level Bills of Materials for civil infrastructure, electrical supplies, and foundation quantities.
• Self-manage preliminary design tasks to align with external stakeholder timelines.
• Carry out electrical engineering analyses, including load flow, ampacity, losses, and/or short circuit evaluations.
• Prepare production forecasts utilizing PVsyst.
• Collaborate with the Proposal team and Subject Matter Experts to determine proposal pricing.
• Offer engineering and technical assistance to the Business Development and Project Services teams.
• Build and maintain relationships with clients.
• Foster relationships with equipment vendors.
• Participate in conferences, training workshops, seminars, and relevant classes.
• Attend safety training and comply with safety regulations and guidelines.
• Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or Civil Engineering from an accredited institution; electric power option preferred.
• 2 – 6 years of pertinent engineering or field experience.
• FE or PE certification is advantageous, though not mandatory.
• Proficiency in energy modeling with PVsyst.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD and preferred experience with PVCase.
• Strong capabilities in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Project.
• Fundamental knowledge of electrical and civil engineering, particularly in PV solar.
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with clients and internal staff; demonstrates strong interpersonal skills.
• Must be self-driven, well-organized, and a competent decision-maker, thriving in a dynamic design environment.
• Outstanding problem-solving abilities.
• Commercial awareness of the engineering or construction sectors.
• Proficient written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
• Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
• Must be capable of lifting 25lbs.
