Reimbursement Specialist, Rare Diseases

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Oversee designated projects and/or cases

• Follow established company procedures

• Execute call-center initiatives and deliver telephone assistance to patients, healthcare professionals, and funding organizations

• Aid in resolving funding and access challenges, encompassing private, public, and special access programs

• Assist with compliance initiatives

• Manage and comply with case-management standards, including clinical oversight, data gathering, continuous patient follow-up, compliance, therapy interruption/discontinuation tracking, adverse event documentation, and coordination with primary healthcare providers

• Carry out pharmaceutical and biotechnology-focused market research projects involving physicians, patients, pharmacists, and other allied health practitioners

• Engage in substantial outbound calling as part of patient engagement programs

• Record every action in program-specific databases

• Participate in ongoing refresher training and specialized educational courses

• Provide insights regarding protocols, databases, processes, and inter-departmental interactions

• Relay case-management updates to the manager, pod, and program-trained peers during absences

• Assist in training new caseworkers, which includes shadowing and monitoring calls

• Report all adverse incidents to designated units/departments

• Carry out additional responsibilities and tasks as necessary

⛳️ Requirements

• Comprehensive background in business administration, accounting, sales, marketing, computer sciences, or related fields, typically gained through the completion of a two-year associate's degree program or an equivalent blend of experience and education

• At least one (1) year of experience in customer service

• Bilingual in French and English is a plus

• Capability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously

• Strong attention to detail

• Excellent problem-solving abilities

• Experience in the medical and pharmaceutical sector is advantageous

• Proficient in Word, Excel, and Outlook

• In-depth understanding of the pharmaceutical distribution sector

• Familiarity with automated warehouse operating systems

• Solid business and financial insight

• Strong analytical and mathematical skills

• Ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written formats

• Effective interpersonal and leadership capabilities

• Strong organizational skills

• Consistent ability to meet deadlines

• Proficient in resolving issues efficiently and effectively
