Reimbursement Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Conduct timely and precise follow-ups on claims for both payers and patients.

• Prepare and submit rebilled claims in a timely and accurate manner.

• Initiate and submit primary, secondary, and tertiary claims to relevant payers.

• Input demographic information into billing and collections software.

• Generate claims for both electronic and physical submission.

• Create Missing Information Requests (MIR).

• Detect discrepancies between booked revenue and anticipated reimbursement.

• Ensure accurate claim reimbursement in compliance with contracts as well as state and federal regulations.

• Recognize and report any violations of NSM Credit Policy.

• Gather and document payer-specific claims processing rules, practices, and guidelines.

• Uphold departmental and organizational policies and procedures.

• Perform additional duties as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School Diploma or an equivalent certification.

• Experience with billing and collections software is highly preferred.

• Understanding of medical billing processes and insurance claim submission.

• Strong communication skills.

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.

• Familiarity with Adobe Acrobat is advantageous.

• Excellent data entry skills, emphasizing accuracy and speed.

• Knowledgeable in the Microsoft suite of products, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.

• Familiar with Adobe Acrobat.

• Capable of performing tasks that involve regular sitting, talking, hearing, and repetitive hand use to operate standard office equipment.

• Able to frequently reach with hands and arms.
