Regulatory and Standards Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee UTM regulatory projects ranging from moderate to high complexity.

• Propel the execution of Wing’s regulatory strategy concerning UTM product and capability development, approvals, and continuous compliance.

• Prepare regulatory submissions for service providers and secure global regulatory approvals.

• Convert regulatory requirements and service performance standards into product specifications and testing procedures.

• Create alternative strategies when confronted with regulatory ambiguity.

• Assist in advancing Wing’s aviation technical standards roadmap.

• Track industry and regulatory trends via technical standards committees, identify potential risks, and evaluate significant changes.

• Relay regulatory and standards-related matters to both internal stakeholders and external partners.

• Engage in the development of technical standards to ensure alignment between industry consensus standards and Wing’s policies, development, and safety protocols.

• Employ a test-and-learn approach to regulatory challenges while considering commercial and financial objectives.

• Work collaboratively with teams in Product, Engineering, Policy, Legal, and Flight Operations.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 8 years of experience in Aviation Engineering or in implementing technical compliance for Service Providers/UTM.

• 3 to 5+ years of hands-on experience with UAS regulatory issues and collaboration with civil aviation authorities (such as FAA, EASA, CASA).

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

• Proven understanding of Service Provider/UTM Regulations (for example, EASA U-Space regulation, future Part 146).

• A proactive team player with excellent interpersonal skills, capable of independent work, and sound judgment in a fast-evolving environment.

• Outstanding written and verbal communication abilities.
