This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Washington.
• Process and evaluate public comments regarding proposed federal regulations under the guidance of a lead regulatory analyst.
• Create comprehensive summaries and maintain a detailed, traceable record of issues, recommendations, and supporting evidence.
• Offer technical expertise and aid in the integration and consolidation of networks across various environments.
• Download and organize authorized public-comment records and attachments, ensuring the preservation of source identifiers and original materials.
• Reconcile intake totals and identify any missing, unreadable, duplicate, or inconsistent records for resolution.
• Apply approved issue categories and pinpoint comments that address multiple issues while maintaining source relationships.
• Differentiate between form-letter families, unique submissions, and substantive additions according to the established methodology.
• Prepare objective summaries of positions, recommendations, and evidence; elevate any ambiguous or high-risk material.
• Verify AI-generated classifications and summaries against the original submissions.
• Maintain mappings from comments to issues, quantitative tables, and entries in the key issues matrix with clear review statuses.
• Produce accessible work products in Word and Excel, and assist with peer reviews, corrections, weekly meetings, and delivery tracking.
• Support authorized publication workflows after necessary reviews and approvals.
• Safeguard nonpublic information.
• A minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience.
• Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or equivalent experience (Four (4) years).
• Working knowledge of federal notice-and-comment rulemaking processes.
• Experience in reading, organizing, summarizing, and analyzing public comments or similar regulatory records.
• Familiarity with the Administrative Procedure Act.
• Familiarity with the Federal Document Management System (FDMS).
• Knowledge of federal style guidelines and accessibility requirements.
• Strong proficiency in written and spoken English.
• Exceptional attention to detail.
• Proficiency in spreadsheet applications.
• Ability to manage competing deadlines effectively.
• Willingness and capability to sit, bend, reach, stoop, squat, stand, and walk.
• Excellent customer service skills, both over the phone and in person.
• Outstanding written and oral command of English.
