This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.
• Oversee Circle’s public policy, regulatory strategy, and market positioning within the Latin America region.
• Act as a vital member of the strategy, global policy, and corporate communications leadership team.
• Collaborate with Commercial, Legal, Compliance, Product, Finance, and additional teams to facilitate growth, mitigate regulatory challenges, and harmonize evolving standards.
• Engage with key regulators and stakeholders in targeted markets.
• Lead analysis, engagement, and regulatory submissions that support company licensure and operations in specific markets.
• Direct regulatory, policy, and other engagements that foster a global market and regulatory landscape conducive to Circle’s products, solutions, and services.
• Monitor global policy, regulatory developments, and market acceptance of digital currencies, blockchain-based payment systems, and crypto-assets.
• Develop regulatory engagement strategies, stakeholder mapping, and market segmentation aligned with the company’s market expansion objectives.
• Evaluate current and future regulatory requirements in target markets in collaboration with legal, compliance, and operational leaders.
• Spearhead market expansion and regulatory initiatives globally.
• Draft regulatory consultation responses, requests for information, comments, and other external stakeholder communications.
• Establish stakeholder coalitions to promote the regulatory agenda.
• Partner with business and cross-functional leaders to ensure business success.
• Lead a dynamic global strategy, policy, and communications team.
• 14+ years of experience in legal, policy, regulatory, and policymaking roles at the intersection of emerging technology, financial services, and global markets.
• 8+ years of experience in managing and leading teams.
• Strong technical expertise, policy instincts, and connections at the highest levels of government, policymaking, and regulatory matters influencing the future of money and payments.
• Demonstrated knowledge at both strategic and technical levels in regulatory engagement within the payments and financial service sectors.
• Extensive understanding of LatAm policy, regulatory, legal, and licensing requirements for payments, digital currencies, crypto-assets, and blockchain-based markets.
• Familiarity with generative AI models (such as ChatGPT, Gemini, etc.) and prompt development.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English, Portuguese, and Spanish.
• Proven experience in building cross-functional teams across various geographic locations and achieving results.
• Proficiency with Slack, Apple MacOS, and GSuite.
