Registered Nurse – Virtual Care

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Offer telephone triage and guidance to callers to help them make timely medical decisions

• Deliver mental health support, including care for suicide, addictions, and crisis intervention

• Apply clinical judgment and utilize Schmitt-Thompson protocols to assess appropriate care levels and dispositions

• Complete confidential medical records swiftly in accordance with company documentation standards

• Provide clear and concise information and guidance during patient interactions

• Support Fonemed’s Canadian operations via Newfoundland and Labrador’s 811 HealthLine and Mental Health Crisis Line

• Operate within a 24/7/365 shift schedule, covering days, evenings, nights, split shifts, weekends, and holidays

⛳️ Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing

• At least 2 years of recent triage and/or clinical experience in fields such as ER, mental health/psychiatry, behavioral health, ICU, acute care, etc.

• Experience in providing mental health, addictions, and crisis intervention care to patients is considered a significant asset

• Active licensure with the CRNNL or a commitment to obtain licensure through CRNNL

• Proficiency with Windows-based computer systems

• Comfortable using technology, including telephone systems, software applications, and computer programs

• Availability for shift work, including days, evenings, nights, weekends, split shifts, and holidays

• Weekend rotation every second weekend

• A private room with a closed door for work purposes

• Personal computer system, headset, secondary monitor, keyboard and mouse, USB headset, webcam, and high-speed internet connection

• Internet connection must not be shared with another household or family in the same building

• Legally authorized to work in Canada

• Bilingual English/French is requested in the application form

• Active home-province licensure with no restrictions or disciplinary actions on record is requested in the application form
