Registered Nurse, Risk Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Implement risk management program initiatives and effect changes in clinical practices, policies, and procedures.

• Offer policy guidance, consultation, and review of sentinel events.

• Create, evaluate, and update risk management policies and guidelines annually or as needed.

• Supervise and train staff on the electronic incident reporting system.

• Engage in risk management efforts, including conducting root cause analyses of facility incidents.

• Provide proactive strategies for risk reduction.

• Gather data, track trends, and communicate findings to the Compliance and Risk Management Program Manager and/or Chief of Medical Quality Management.

• Oversee adherence to established care standards in ICE facilities, contract detention centers, and jails across the United States.

• Ensure accountability and oversight of risk management activities.

• Aid in identifying opportunities for improvement.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing or a related discipline.

• At least five years of professional experience as a licensed registered nurse or in health administration.

• Certification in Healthcare Quality or Risk Management, or the ability to obtain certification within one year of employment.

• Proficient in navigating an electronic work environment, including electronic health records, web-based training, and communications.

• Familiarity with and moderate proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and SharePoint.

• Understanding of HIPAA/Privacy Act regulations concerning the confidentiality of patient medical records, information, and personally identifiable information (PII).

• Capacity to interact and collaborate with personnel and management across IHSC, ERO, ICE, and DHS offices, as well as with federal GS employees, Commissioned Corps officers, and contractors.

• Ability to walk unaided at a normal pace for up to 10 minutes and maintain balance.

• Capability to lift, push, or carry 30 pounds.

• Competence to perform responsibilities in a stressful and often austere environment without physical limitations.
