Registered Nurse, Risk Manager

πŸ“‹ Description

β€’ Implement risk management program initiatives and effect changes in clinical practices, policies, and procedures.

β€’ Offer policy guidance, consultation, and review of sentinel events.

β€’ Create, evaluate, and update risk management policies and guidelines annually or as needed.

β€’ Supervise and train staff on the electronic incident reporting system.

β€’ Engage in risk management efforts, including conducting root cause analyses of facility incidents.

β€’ Provide proactive strategies for risk reduction.

β€’ Gather data, track trends, and communicate findings to the Compliance and Risk Management Program Manager and/or Chief of Medical Quality Management.

β€’ Oversee adherence to established care standards in ICE facilities, contract detention centers, and jails across the United States.

β€’ Ensure accountability and oversight of risk management activities.

β€’ Aid in identifying opportunities for improvement.


⛳️ Requirements

β€’ Bachelor's degree in Nursing or a related discipline.

β€’ At least five years of professional experience as a licensed registered nurse or in health administration.

β€’ Certification in Healthcare Quality or Risk Management, or the ability to obtain certification within one year of employment.

β€’ Proficient in navigating an electronic work environment, including electronic health records, web-based training, and communications.

β€’ Familiarity with and moderate proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and SharePoint.

β€’ Understanding of HIPAA/Privacy Act regulations concerning the confidentiality of patient medical records, information, and personally identifiable information (PII).

β€’ Capacity to interact and collaborate with personnel and management across IHSC, ERO, ICE, and DHS offices, as well as with federal GS employees, Commissioned Corps officers, and contractors.

β€’ Ability to walk unaided at a normal pace for up to 10 minutes and maintain balance.

β€’ Capability to lift, push, or carry 30 pounds.

β€’ Competence to perform responsibilities in a stressful and often austere environment without physical limitations.
