This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +11 more states.
• Review intake documents, medical histories, laboratory results, baseline health evaluations, and previous care for every new patient.
• Identify nutrition-related risks and comorbidities, highlighting issues that require physician intervention.
• Conduct telehealth meetings with adolescents and their families to evaluate needs, goals, eating habits, and readiness for change.
• Create personalized nutrition and care plans that align with each family's lifestyle, culture, available resources, and medical treatments, including GLP-1 therapy when appropriate.
• Deliver ongoing counseling, monitoring, and adjustments to the care plan.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, health coaches, and other members of the care team.
• Provide nutrition expertise during case reviews and in communications with the care team.
• Assist in enhancing care pathways and technology systems as the program expands.
• Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN) credential with the necessary education and current licensure.
• Experience and a genuine interest in working with adolescents facing obesity or elevated BMI.
• Experience or a clear interest in supporting teens utilizing GLP-1 therapy.
• Licensed to practice in the Balance states: Florida, Texas, California, Arizona, Michigan, Illinois, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Utah, and Alabama—or willing to secure the necessary licensing and credentialing.
• Availability of 30–50+ hours per month, with the potential to increase as the program develops.
• Employment classification as 1099.
• Experience providing care via a telemedicine platform is a plus.
• Interest in enhancing care pathways and supporting technology systems is an added benefit.
• Pediatric or adolescent nutrition experience is a bonus.
• Background in behavioral or family-centered counseling approaches is advantageous.
• Authorization to work in the United States.
• Competitive hourly rate of $65/hr.
• Flexible monthly commitment of 30–50+ hours, with the opportunity to scale hours as the program grows.
