
Regional Sales Manager – US-West

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee a regional sales team consisting of Regional Account Managers in the Western United States.
• Implement strategic and tactical business plans within designated territories while engaging with Eye Care Professionals.
• Contribute to the creation of sales and marketing policies, plans, and procedures.
• Articulate business strategy and link individual responsibilities to broader business success.
• Establish a regular managerial rhythm through conference calls, one-on-one meetings, and field visits.
• Track territory sales performance and ensure thorough plans safeguard revenue while capitalizing on growth opportunities.
• Conduct quarterly reviews of business plans and offer guidance and support.
• Ensure adherence to established sales cycles, including priority and bonus products, as well as new product launches.
• Provide ongoing reporting and insights to the US Head of Sales regarding business and market conditions.
• Inspire, lead, and motivate the team while effectively planning and allocating resources to meet sales objectives.
• Supervise recruitment, promotions, performance evaluation, coaching, mentoring, and training efforts.
• Manage the Performance and Development Review process, assigning ratings for performance and potential.
• Define performance and behavioral expectations in collaboration with the US Head of Sales.
• Evaluate individual performance through field visits and personal meetings.
• Offer recognition, on-the-job coaching, mentoring, training, constructive feedback, and disciplinary measures as necessary.
• Assist high-potential employees with development plans, stretch assignments, projects, and cross-functional initiatives.
• Contribute to effective reward systems.
• Engage the remote workforce to foster a sense of connection and value among employees.
• Provide additional focus on key accounts.
• Advise on pricing, product modifications, new product launches, promotional and advertising strategies, and participation in conferences.
• Monitor CRM milestones and timelines, ensuring accurate CRM data management.
• Analyze market trends, competitive landscape, sales statistics, territory data, and overall market information.
• Present strategic recommendations to the US Head of Sales.
• Collaborate with Marketing to address field marketing needs and respond to business strategy, product knowledge, and technical inquiries.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant field - required.
• Master's degree or professional certification – preferred.
• Over 3 years of experience in sales management - preferred.
• More than 5 years in the Eyecare sector - desired.
• Valid full driving license.
• Willingness to travel internationally on occasion.
• Demonstrated experience in a sales environment at a management or leadership level.
• Strong background and experience in life sciences or commercial business – required.
• Commercial awareness and business acumen within the Eye Care market, pharmaceutical, and/or medical devices industry.
• Experience in operational sales or key account management.
• Proven ability to identify and develop business opportunities with an entrepreneurial mindset.
• Hands-on experience in customer and channel management.
• Knowledge of industry landscape and strategy, including local impacts on and changes affecting customers.
• Track record of successfully leading, coaching, and motivating a sales team to achieve business targets at a regional level.
• Established commercial acumen and understanding of market dynamics.
• Ability to accurately assess and communicate market intelligence to guide plans and objectives.
• Proven capacity to execute commercial initiatives and achieve success in an empowering, motivated, and professional manner.
