This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois, +2 more states.
• Oversee the food service operations in the Illinois, Wisconsin, and Iowa markets.
• Increase food service sales through foodservice distribution channels and regional operators, including multi-unit chains and large independent accounts.
• Manage relationships with brokers and distributors.
• Oversee regional operator accounts.
• Create new business opportunities and develop strategic business plans.
• Collaborate closely with Marketing, Culinary, Procurement, Customer Service, Sales Planning, QA, and external customer stakeholders to achieve profitable growth.
• Meet sales targets by promoting foodservice commodities and value-added seafood products to broadline distributors and operators.
• Acquire comprehensive knowledge of key customers, competitors, and brokers within the region.
• Participate in food shows and conduct broker training sessions, product demonstrations, and business reviews.
• Negotiate pricing and trade spending with customers.
• Complete weekly reports for CRM and Trade Management.
• Work in partnership with cross-functional teams, brokers, and stakeholders to fulfill customer requirements.
• Provide market insights and competitive intelligence gathered from the field.
• Communicate sales forecasts effectively.
• Monitor and manage all sales-related expenses.
• A Bachelor’s degree is required.
• 5–10 years of experience in foodservice sales, broker networks, distribution sales, or culinary roles; experience with seafood is preferred.
• Strong grasp of foodservice sales principles, methods, practices, and techniques.
• A strategic, analytical, and independent decision-maker with the ability to implement tactical plans.
• Self-motivated, highly organized, and driven individual with excellent follow-up capabilities.
• Demonstrated ability to acquire new business, develop customer pipelines, and foster robust internal and external relationships.
• Strong skills in forecasting and demand planning.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, CRM systems, Power BI, Technomic, and Datassential.
• Willingness to travel up to 50% during the peak Lenten season.
