Regional Sales Director – Mid-Atlantic

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Oversee regional sales performance and ensure successful launches within a designated geographical area and/or specific hospital or large group practice accounts.

• Recruit, hire, mentor, develop, and supervise Account Managers.

• Drive regional launch execution to enhance awareness, generate demand, ensure appropriate utilization, and boost sales performance.

• Formulate and implement regional business plans that focus on key accounts, customer segments, market opportunities, and resource distribution.

• Lead the sales team to responsibly achieve and surpass sales objectives.

• Implement the approved marketing strategy alongside the regional team.

• Assess local market dynamics, foster customer relationships, and adjust strategies accordingly.

• Guarantee timely implementation of marketing and sales initiatives within the region.

• Collaborate on establishing goals and performance metrics.

• Utilize data, dashboards, and performance insights to track outcomes, identify gaps, coach Account Managers, enhance execution, and optimize resource allocation.

• Set performance standards, offer coaching and feedback, and address performance and disciplinary issues.

• Conduct regular field visits with Account Managers.

• Cultivate a culture of accountability that promotes achievement, engagement, development, and retention.

• Ensure compliance with field operations and company policies.

• Collaborate with sales leadership, commercial operations, marketing, market access, account management, and other cross-functional teams.

• Translate national strategy into regional execution while providing insights on market conditions, customer perspectives, and marketing strategies.


⛳️ Requirements

• BA/BS degree from an accredited institution.

• Valid driver's license required.

• At least 7 years of experience in pharmaceutical, medical, or related medical sales.

• Minimum of 2 years of proven district/regional field management experience.

• Experience in leading teams within hospitals, health systems, and large practice groups.

• Knowledge of hospital decision-making processes, clinical pathways, formulary management, and antimicrobial stewardship programs.

• Willingness to travel up to 50%, including overnight trips.

• Ability to lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.

• Compliance with all regulatory, legal, and compliance standards.

• Outstanding presentation and sales capabilities.

• Proficient in computer skills, particularly Microsoft Office.

• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.

• Strong analytical and technical skills.

• Preferred: experience leading high-performing hospital, specialty, or account-based sales teams in complex healthcare settings.

• Preferred: experience launching specialty, anti-infective, infectious disease, or hospital-based products.

• Preferred: a comprehensive understanding of hospital, health-system, or large practice group decision-making processes.

• Preferred: experience leading teams that engage multiple stakeholders.

• Preferred: strong leadership in account management within IDNs, health systems, academic medical centers, or large group practice organizations.

• Preferred: ability to coach and develop account managers in strategic account planning, stakeholder mapping, business acumen, execution excellence, and sales driving.

• Preferred: experience in highly matrixed organizations.

• Preferred: capability to translate access achievements, formulary approvals, and protocol adoption into product utilization and prescribing behavior.

• Preferred: strong analytical skills utilizing data, account insights, and performance metrics.

• Preferred: excellence in culture building, talent development, and performance management.

• Anti-infective, hospital specialty, or infectious disease experience is strongly preferred.

• Preferred: experience leading access enablement or demand generation efforts across hospital accounts.

• Preferred: MBA or advanced degree in healthcare/business.
