Regional Safety Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois, +12 more states.

📋 Description

• Supervise the development of site-specific safety plans and activity hazard analyses for designated projects.

• Ensure adherence to safety policies and established standards.

• Create and execute long-term strategies and short-term plans to enhance regional safety, health, and environmental compliance.

• Confirm that personal protective equipment complies with relevant OSHA standards and that employees receive training on its proper usage.

• Perform safety audits at assigned project locations.

• Ensure that incidents are reported, investigated, analyzed for root causes, and that corrective actions are implemented.

• Review safety qualifications of subcontractors and participate in pre-construction meetings.

• Collaborate with project supervision and management to address safety issues.

• Promote and sustain a positive safety culture.

• Maintain necessary safety certifications as required by contracts.

• Conduct monthly safety meetings for project personnel.

• Assist with multi-state energy efficiency and renewable energy construction projects.

• Travel up to 75% to support safety operations.

• Perform additional duties as assigned.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in occupational safety & health engineering or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.

• At least seven (7) years of progressively responsible EHS experience in construction, renewable energy, industrial, manufacturing, utility, or energy-related operations.

• Proven experience in supporting utility-scale or commercial solar PV construction projects, BESS, and/or solar O&M activities.

• Strong knowledge of electrical safety, NFPA 70e, lockout/tagout, arc flash hazard mitigation, and energized work practices.

• Experience applying OSHA Construction (29 CFR 1926) and General Industry (29 CFR 1910) standards is preferred.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office, Procore, and other basic computer skills.

• Demonstrated experience in OSHA Compliance.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Excellent writing capabilities with correct grammar usage.

• Current OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety certification is mandatory.

• Advanced OSHA certifications such as OSHA 510 or OSHA 511 are desirable.

• CSP, ASP, SMS, or other recognized professional safety certifications are preferred.

• Board Certified Safety Professional certifications such as CHST or OHST are preferred.

• Current First Aid & CPR certification is required.

• Valid driver's license in good standing issued by the state of residence.

• Willingness to travel up to 75% as necessary.
