Regional Relief Helicopter Pilot

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado, +8 more states.

📋 Description

• Safely and legally operate Air Methods aircraft.

• Conduct pre-flight inspections and confirm aircraft airworthiness via the Daily Flight Log.

• Perform a thorough walk-around of the aircraft prior to entering the cockpit and after each flight.

• Hold final authority over aircraft operations and the safety of passengers, cargo, and equipment.

• Stay updated on the aircraft and medical systems of backup aircraft.

• Ensure the medical flight team is well-acquainted and comfortable with the medical interiors and systems.

• Complete all required documentation.

• Engage in detailed flight planning on short notice to meet high standards.

• Regularly participate in Air Methods meetings, activities, projects, committees, and community outreach efforts.

• Execute other assigned duties as necessary.

⛳️ Requirements

• An Associate’s degree (A.A.) or its equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, along with two to five years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Pilots must have operated in the category within the past 24 months.

• A total of 2000 flight hours, with a minimum of 1500 flight hours in the specified category.

• At least 1000 hours as Pilot in Command (PIC) in the category.

• A minimum of 500 hours of rotor wing turbine flight time.

• 200 hours of cross-country flight time, including at least 50 hours flown at night.

• 100 hours of unaided night flight time as PIC, with a specified NVG substitution option.

• 50 hours of total actual or hood instrument time in flight and in the category, with a specified fixed-wing substitution option.

• An instrument rating for the category and class of aircraft; an ATP rating in the category fulfills this requirement.

• A fixed-wing multiengine rating is required for twin-engine aircraft.

• A commercial single-engine land rating is necessary for single-engine aircraft.

• A First or Second Class FAA Medical certificate is mandatory.

• Weight must not exceed 250 pounds.

• Candidates must be under seventy (70) years old.

• Extensive knowledge of FAR, AIM, GOM, and Air Methods policies and procedures is essential.

• Must reside in ID, UT, MT, CO, WY, ND, SD, NE, IA, or surrounding states.
