Regional Relief Helicopter Pilot

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado, +8 more states.

📋 Description

• Safely and legally operate Air Methods aircraft.

• Conduct pre-flight inspections and confirm aircraft airworthiness prior to each flight.

• Execute a thorough walk-around inspection of the aircraft before entering the cockpit and after every flight.

• Hold final authority over aircraft operations, ensuring the safety of passengers, cargo, and equipment.

• Stay informed about the aircraft and medical systems of any backup aircraft utilized in the operational area.

• Ensure that the medical flight team is well-acquainted and comfortable with the medical interior and systems.

• Complete all necessary documentation accurately.

• Engage in detailed flight planning on short notice, adhering to strict standards.

• Participate actively in Air Methods meetings, activities, projects, committees, and community outreach initiatives.

• Execute additional duties as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must reside in ID, UT, MT, CO, WY, ND, SD, NE, IA, or nearby states.

• An Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, along with two to five years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

• A Bachelor’s degree is preferred.

• Must maintain a weight not exceeding 250 pounds.

• Candidates must be under seventy (70) years of age.

• Pilots are required to have flown in category within the last 24 months.

• A total of 2000 flight hours, with at least 1500 hours in category.

• 1000 hours as Pilot-in-Command (PIC) in category.

• 500 hours of flight time in rotor wing turbine aircraft.

• 200 hours of cross-country flight time, with a minimum of 50 hours at night.

• 100 hours of unaided night flight time as PIC.

• 50 hours of actual or simulated instrument flight time in category.

• An instrument rating for the category and class of aircraft; an ATP rating in category fulfills this requirement.

• A fixed-wing multiengine rating is necessary for twin-engine aircraft.

• A commercial single-engine land rating is required for single-engine aircraft.

• A First or Second Class FAA Medical certificate is mandatory.

• Familiarity with Federal Aviation Regulations, the Aeronautical Information Manual, General Operations Manual guidelines, and Air Methods policies and procedures is essential.
