Regional Policy Manager – Methane Pollution Prevention

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Argentina.

📋 Description

• Develop and enhance technically robust methane policies, regulations, initiatives, and projects within the agriculture, waste, and energy sectors.

• Conduct research on the effectiveness of policies and their political viability.

• Create and implement advocacy strategies that support ambitious methane mitigation policies.

• Establish trusted relationships and coalitions across government, civil society, industry, academia, partner organizations, and international institutions throughout Latin America.

• Design and facilitate workshops, training sessions, webinars, and roundtables to bolster methane mitigation planning and execution capabilities.

• Convert complex technical and policy information into reports, recommendations, presentations, testimonies, briefings, and other materials.

• Identify emerging opportunities, priorities, and partnerships to broaden CATF’s regional methane initiatives.

• Collaborate with teams focused on methane, advocacy, communications, technical aspects, and regional efforts.

• Provide guidance and collaborative oversight to the Fossil Fuel Policy Analyst for Latin America and the Caribbean.

• Contribute to project planning, consultant coordination, budget execution, and broader program development.

• Link experiences from Latin America with CATF’s wider global methane strategy.

⛳️ Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in public policy, environmental science, engineering, economics, law, international relations, or a similar field, or equivalent relevant professional experience.

• A minimum of 5 years of pertinent professional experience in climate, energy, environmental policy, advocacy, or a closely related area.

• Proven experience in developing or advancing public policy initiatives and assessing policy or regulatory frameworks.

• Knowledge of climate, energy, environmental, or regulatory systems in Latin America, with experience working across multiple countries in the region.

• Experience in engaging government stakeholders and policymakers in Latin America, effectively navigating complex political and stakeholder landscapes.

• Professional fluency in both Spanish and English, with the ability to clearly convey technical and policy concepts in writing and presentations.

• Demonstrated capacity to build partnerships, support coalitions, negotiate effectively, and influence policy changes among stakeholders with varying priorities.

• Strong skills in project leadership, analytical thinking, organization, and problem-solving.

• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a remote, international setting.

• Candidates must be authorized to work in their country of residence.
