This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.
• Support the SVP Operations in enhancing performance of operating companies within the designated region.
• Engage in operational reviews and project discussions.
• Recognize execution risks and opportunities for improvement.
• Aid in the implementation of operational discipline, which includes project controls, productivity, and planning.
• Acquire knowledge of key projects, backlog, and operational drivers across various operating companies.
• Monitor project execution trends, productivity indicators, and adherence to schedules.
• Provide structured updates to the SVP Operations.
• Cultivate relationships with leadership teams of operating companies.
• Support transitions for new CEOs or operations leaders.
• Assist the Strategic Development Leader in achieving onboarding alignment.
• Coach and influence stakeholders without direct authority.
• Help coordinate enterprise initiatives related to preconstruction discipline, procurement, project execution, and the adoption of technology and AI.
• Translate enterprise initiatives into actionable steps for operating companies.
• Assist in efforts for acquisition integration.
• Contribute to assessing the operational maturity of new businesses and understanding integration frameworks and expectations.
• Collaborate closely with the Chief Operations Officer and leadership teams of operating companies to enhance execution discipline, support leadership transitions, and boost operational predictability.
• Willingness to travel up to 40-60% of the time.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction, or related fields, or equivalent field experience.
• A minimum of 7-10 years of experience in Mechanical Construction.
• Previous experience in one or more of the following areas: Project Management, Field Operations, Estimating/Preconstruction, or Fabrication/Prefabrication.
• Preferred exposure to various project types, including commercial, industrial, and mission-critical projects.
• Comprehensive understanding of the Mechanical Contracting business.
• Demonstrated success in leading projects while upholding commitments to ethics and safety.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications.
• Familiarity with construction software such as Accubid, Procore, Bluebeam, or similar platforms.
• Knowledge of construction and financial software packages.
• Must possess strong communication skills in English.
• Ability to travel by plane and/or car 40-60% of the time.
• Capability to sit, see, talk, hear, use hands, walk, reach, climb or balance, and perform stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling tasks.
• Occasionally able to lift and/or move up to twenty-five (25) pounds.
