This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.
• Manage operations and staff at college retail bookstores within the assigned region.
• Develop and oversee budget objectives for the designated area.
• Facilitate the transition of printed materials to digital formats.
• Implement the Company's customer service strategies.
• Supervise the acquisition and upkeep of digital access, textbook, and merchandise inventory.
• Recruit and train bookstore staff.
• Provide training on company procedures and job-specific tasks.
• Professionally represent the Company.
• Supervise store managers across the designated region.
• Ensure the procurement and maintenance of adequate textbook inventory throughout each academic term.
• Ensure sufficient general merchandise inventory levels align with budgetary requirements.
• Maintain communication and relationships with department chairs, faculty, and publishers regarding book orders.
• Oversee the development of store budgets.
• Create and analyze weekly and monthly reports to monitor financial performance.
• Prepare weekly financial snapshot reports for each store.
• Meet with campus administration at least quarterly to foster relationships and discuss service and customer expectations.
• Engage in outreach efforts to attract prospective customers.
• Ensure the store's appearance and customer service standards are upheld.
• Recruit, hire, train, and maintain staff levels in accordance with Company guidelines and budgets.
• A minimum of four (4) years of college education or equivalent experience.
• Three (3) to five (5) years of management experience in a multi-unit college bookstore or retail environment.
• Proven success in retail operations, including profitability, budgeting, merchandising, promotion, and staffing.
• Experience with textbooks is advantageous.
• Willingness to accommodate a substantial travel schedule.
