This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Tennessee.
• Foster connections with school districts and educational leaders to facilitate curriculum adoptions and the implementation of professional learning.
• Leverage marketing-generated leads to establish a systematic new-business development approach.
• Actively develop assigned territories through outbound outreach via calls, emails, LinkedIn/social media engagement, referrals, and networking.
• Create and oversee a pipeline of qualified new-business opportunities.
• Conduct a minimum of 15 proactive outbound interactions weekly with new district contacts.
• Engage in at least 10 live outbound phone discussions each week.
• Arrange and execute a minimum of 5 discovery calls, prospect meetings, or presentations weekly.
• Respond to marketing-generated leads within 4 business hours or less.
• Provide customized in-person and virtual presentations along with product demonstrations.
• Identify and nurture relationships with superintendents, curriculum directors, principals, and instructional coaches.
• Represent Open Up Resources at conferences, trade shows, and regional educational events.
• Maintain comprehensive Salesforce records, including call logs, opportunity stages, forecasts, and customer information.
• Submit bi-weekly written reports on activity and progress to leadership.
• Collaborate with leadership on territory priorities, messaging, and prospecting strategies.
• Offer market insights, competitive intelligence, and product feedback.
• Meet or surpass targets for new-business revenue, pipeline, and activity.
• Uphold Open Up Resources’ dedication to educational equity and student achievement.
• Background in K-12 education, curriculum sales, educational technology sales, or related business development experience.
• Proven track record in proactive prospecting and new-business generation.
• Success in Math/ELA sales with demonstrated expertise in one or both subject areas.
• History of effective outbound prospecting, referral-based selling, and pipeline development.
• Experience in managing inbound demand effectively.
• Ability to build and maintain relationships with instructional leaders in districts and schools.
• Exceptional presentation, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Comfort in presenting to experienced and senior audiences.
• Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
• Keen attention to detail and the capacity to manage multiple territory priorities.
• Proficiency with technology applications, including presentation software and Salesforce.
• Capability to work independently in a fast-paced, goal-oriented environment.
• Willingness to collaborate closely with leadership and the wider team.
• Readiness to travel up to 50% to support territory development and relationship building.
