This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee the profitability of the West Region and Territory Business Managers (TBMs).
• Manage TBM performance while providing feedback, coaching, and opportunities for professional development.
• Lead the sales planning and execution for marketed products within the region.
• Collaborate with teams across Commercial Operations, Marketing, Medical, Legal, Compliance, Patient Services, Human Resources, and Senior Leadership.
• Allocate resources effectively across the designated geography.
• Maintain strong relationships with key customers.
• Cultivate relationships with physician practices, hospitals/clinics, and patient advocacy organizations.
• Serve as an ambassador, offering insights to the wider organization.
• Ensure adherence to Company policies, industry standards, government regulations, and ethical practices.
• Establish, manage, and mentor a high-performing sales team.
• Develop and implement strategic sales and account plans.
• Achieve or surpass quarterly sales targets.
• Analyze regional business performance and create both short- and long-term growth strategies.
• Formulate regional strategies to enhance brand access and support brand goals.
• Recruit, coach, retain, and develop TBM talent.
• Conduct field coaching sessions and provide performance evaluations.
• Share competitive market intelligence with brand teams and management.
• Manage and allocate the district budget.
• Build relationships with local opinion leaders.
• Collaborate with alliance partners.
• Monitor sales trends and competitor activities.
• Attend sales meetings, training sessions, and medical conventions as needed.
• Align actions with the business strategic plan to meet long-term corporate objectives.
• Perform other assigned responsibilities.
• A Bachelor’s Degree is required; an advanced degree (MBA) is preferred.
• At least 10+ years of experience in pharmaceutical sales.
• A minimum of 3 years in a management role within Rare Disease or Sarcoma.
• At least 3+ years of direct people leadership experience.
• Proven success in various HQ disciplines, including Marketing and Managed Markets.
• Previous experience in launching products or services.
• Strong scientific or business orientation.
• In-depth understanding of the Rare Disease therapeutic area and current trends.
• Comprehensive knowledge of pharmaceutical industry procedures and regulations.
• Solid business acumen relevant to Rare Disease sales and customer account management.
• Proactive ownership with strong analytical, strategic, and decision-making capabilities.
• Ability to build and lead effective cross-functional teams.
• Proven ability to lead and manage change.
• Experience managing diverse teams in a competitive business landscape.
• Commitment to ethical leadership, adhering to corporate policies and required sales practice regulations.
• Capability to understand and execute business objectives while guiding resource allocation.
• Proficient in coordinating training efforts to enhance team product knowledge and selling skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Valid US Driver’s License and a driving record compliant with company standards.
• Ability to operate a motor vehicle safely and successfully.
• Willingness and ability to travel domestically up to 50% or more of the time.
• Reside within a reasonable distance of the assigned territory.
