Referral Coordinator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Schedule patient appointments, tests, procedures, and surgeries associated with referral requests.

• Facilitate referral authorization and keep medical records updated.

• Organize screening, diagnostic, and therapeutic testing, as well as consultative and therapeutic referrals.

• Collect and accurately input insurance, demographic, and eligibility data.

• Confirm referral and authorization requirements and ensure referrals are completed within the designated timeframes.

• Deliver excellent customer service to patients, visitors, clinical staff, and employees.

• Assist with administrative duties, data collection and entry, medical record review and management, and report creation.

• Provide directions to facilities and offices.

• Communicate effectively with management, clinical staff, and both internal and external customers.

• Safeguard confidential information and operate office equipment proficiently.

• Engage in departmental projects, referral-related education and training, meetings, and Teams activities.

• Act as a resource for questions and guidance related to referrals.

⛳️ Requirements

• An associate degree or a combination of education and four years of relevant experience is required.

• Virginia MLTSS (UAI) Certification is necessary for completing orientation and must be maintained throughout employment.

• Experience in a healthcare practice setting is preferred.

• Proficient computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, word processing, spreadsheets, presentation, or database software.

• Strong communication and organizational skills are essential.

• The following states may qualify for a remote work schedule: Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Arkansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, West Virginia, and Virginia.

• Work schedule is Monday to Friday, primarily from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
