Red Team Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Develop innovative challenges and adversarial scenarios for both current and future Arena competitions.

• Participate in red teaming initiatives with external clients, focusing on areas such as prompt injection, tool utilization, and agent exploitation.

• Utilize Slack, Linear, our Arena design editor, and AI tools to ensure timely and high-quality delivery of red-teaming outcomes.

• Create internal tools and processes for the Arena, including features like cheating detection, while supporting operational activities such as break verification and prize distribution.

• Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to design realistic scenarios that showcase attack surfaces in cutting-edge systems.

• Contribute to the evolution of Gray Swan Arena by introducing novel ideas and challenge formats.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 1 year of experience in AI red teaming, adversarial machine learning, or a related field in security research.

• Highly organized and adept at working independently on multiple simultaneous projects.

• Demonstrated ability to communicate technical concepts effectively in clear reports.

• Comfortable with rapid adjustments and shifting priorities.

• Prior experience as a competitor in Gray Swan Arena is advantageous.

• A background in traditional security research, Capture The Flag (CTF) competitions, or penetration testing.

• Experience in AI red teaming that goes beyond LLM prompt injection.

• A degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science or a related discipline.

• Understanding of multimodal attack surfaces.

• Proficiency in coding for automating or scaling test cases.
