Receptionist, Prior Authorization Specialist – Primary Care

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.

📋 Description

• Assist in the establishment of a new primary care practice set to launch this fall, acting as the operational support for a solo practitioner.

• Manage incoming patient calls and phone operations.

• Oversee appointment scheduling and bookings.

• Address patient inquiries and provide assistance with the automated intake system as necessary.

• Obtain, submit, track, and follow up on prior authorizations for diagnostic tests, imaging, and medications.

• Confirm active insurance coverage prior to patient appointments.

• Handle medication refill and prescription requests, collecting clinical information and routing it to the physician.

• Supervise the automated patient check-in system and offer remote manual support when required.

• Process, track, and follow up on outgoing consultation faxes, medical record requests, and reports from specialists.

• Utilize Alasia Health and Ambient AI to document patient interactions, record information, and manage daily tasks.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven hands-on experience in obtaining diagnostic (CT, MRI) and medication prior authorizations directly from insurance companies.

• Comprehensive understanding of U.S. health insurance plans, including co-pays, deductibles, and eligibility verification.

• At least 2 years of experience in medical reception, patient scheduling, or front-desk operations in primary care.

• Ability to adhere to a designated 40-hour work schedule, which includes late shifts on Wednesdays and half-day Fridays.

• Proficient in both spoken and written English.

• Possess a warm, welcoming, and reassuring telephone demeanor.

• Have access to a private, HIPAA-compliant home office.

• Must have a reliable computer.

• High-speed internet connection is required.

• A clear headset is necessary for communication.

• Preferred: Experience in a boutique, primary care, or small solo-provider practice setting.

• Preferred: Familiarity with Alasia Health, Ambient AI, or similar modern EMR platforms.
