
Real Estate Review Appraiser – Right of Way

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Evaluate, analyze, and authorize appraisals for right of way initiatives, corridor acquisitions, easements, and eminent domain actions.
• Ensure adherence to UASFLA, USPAP, and federal regulations.
• Provide comprehensive written appraisal reviews and recommendations to leadership.
• Act as a resource and consultant for project managers, attorneys, and acquisition specialists regarding valuation methodologies.
• Mentor and offer technical support to junior appraisers and acquisition personnel.
• Represent the agency as an expert witness in administrative hearings and court cases.
• Create and sustain internal guidance, policies, and training related to appraisal and review procedures.
• MAI (Appraisal Institute) or ARA (ASFMRA) designation.
• Certified General Appraiser license in accordance with standards established by the Appraiser Qualifications Board.
• Bachelor's degree or higher in real estate, finance, economics, business, or a related field.
• At least 8–10 years of progressively responsible experience in real estate appraisal, including a minimum of 3 years in review appraisal for federal land acquisition projects.
• Proven expertise in UASFLA (Yellow Book), USPAP, 49 CFR Part 24 (Uniform Act), and practices related to eminent domain appraisal.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of preparing review reports and delivering expert testimony.
• Experience with federal or state agency right of way acquisition programs (preferred).
• Familiarity with coordinating efforts alongside legal counsel, engineers, and acquisition specialists (preferred).
• Understanding of federal land acquisition regulations and relocation assistance programs (preferred).
• Previous experience as a review appraiser for federal land acquisition, corridor, or large-scale infrastructure projects (preferred).
