This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Assist in identifying and securing ideal locations for solar and battery initiatives.
• Perform market and financial assessments.
• Keep track of regulatory requirements pertaining to renewable energy projects.
• Execute initial permitting evaluations with local authorities and aid in early project permitting processes.
• Analyze energy metrics and utility pricing.
• Provide support for project permitting and interconnection processes.
• Reach out to landowners through mail and phone communications.
• Conduct site inspections to evaluate physical conditions, accessibility, and adjacent land use.
• Perform desktop research for potential project sites utilizing ArcGIS.
• Create and manage a comprehensive site selection database.
• Assist in securing lease and purchase options as well as easements.
• Facilitate real estate transaction activities, including acquisition target assessments and negotiations for options, leases, and easements.
• Identify transaction, title, and environmental risks along with mitigation strategies.
• Aid in the preparation of real property elements for project financing, including resolving title issues and coordinating Phase I Environmental reports and ALTA Surveys.
• Develop necessary land and transaction documentation while maintaining organized databases.
• Monitor and report on project budgets and timelines.
• Provide consistent updates on site acquisition progress.
• Recognize opportunities for process enhancements and adopt improved real estate practices.
• Offer guidance to internal teams regarding potential obstacles that may hinder acquisition or development.
• Escalate issues to Management when required.
• Collaborate with teams in development, permitting, engineering, and finance.
• This is an entry-level position.
• A Bachelor's Degree is mandatory.
• Proficiency in Google Earth and Microsoft Excel is essential.
• Willingness to travel within the United States up to 25% of the time.
• Strong organizational, project management, problem-solving, analytical, commercial, oral communication, and written communication abilities.
• Capacity to prioritize tasks and manage competing deadlines effectively.
• Ability to build and sustain relationships with internal and external clients, consultants, and landowners.
• Skills in contract drafting and review are advantageous.
• Familiarity with Smartsheet, Google Drive, or ArcGIS is a plus.
• Understanding of real estate acquisition contract terms and strong negotiation skills is beneficial.
• Exposure to the renewable energy sector is an advantage.
