RCIS Crop Claims Field Adjuster, Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Conduct field inspections, which include interpreting maps and aerial photographs as well as measuring fields and storage facilities.

• Engage in discussions with farmers regarding crop-loss assessments on complex, unusual, and contentious claims.

• Communicate intricate regulations and their interpretations to claimants, agents, and industry professionals.

• Undertake investigations related to crop damage.

• Document and relay loss information to accurately evaluate potential indemnities.

• Collect pertinent facts, apply relevant laws, and establish fundamental principles of negligence.

• Execute claim reviews and audits on junior adjusters as assigned.

• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulatory and company policies and procedures to ensure adherence to legal standards.

• Participate in team projects and contribute to associated outcomes.

• Provide services to agricultural counties within a 50-mile radius of Fresno, Tulare, Kern, and Madera, California.

• Travel approximately 50% of the time to cover the designated territory.

• For the Crop Claims Specialist role, travel beyond the assigned area, take part in CAT teams, and/or offer remote support for CROP Claims Care Center inquiries and CCP claims.

⛳️ Requirements

• For the RCIS Crop Claims Field Adjuster I position: High School Diploma or Equivalent and at least 6 months of experience in the agricultural field.

• For the Crop Claims Specialist role: High School Diploma or Equivalent and 4 years of experience in the agricultural or crop insurance sectors.

• Completion of the Crop Adjuster Proficiency Program Certification (CAPP) is required within 180 days of hire.

• Reliable personal transportation and willingness to travel within the assigned area.

• A valid Driver’s License is mandatory.

• Capability to walk in agricultural fields for distances up to 3 miles.

• Ability to climb agricultural storage bins up to 50 feet high.

• Capacity to lift weights ranging from 25 lbs. to 50 lbs.

• Willingness to work outdoors in varying temperatures and weather conditions.

• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills are preferred.

• Strong organizational and prioritization abilities are preferred.

• Experience as a Crop Claims Field Adjuster is preferred.

• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office is preferred.
