This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.
• Create control strategies for high-fidelity and rapid quantum operations
• Assist in the formulation of precise physics models grounded in actual hardware specifications
• Collaborate with hardware teams to deploy novel techniques on quantum devices
• Establish protocols for assessing quantum operations
• Evaluate experimental outcomes and juxtapose them with theoretical forecasts and models
• Proven experience in crafting control strategies for high-fidelity quantum operations
• Solid foundation in the principles of light-matter interactions and simulating quantum dynamics through software
• Demonstrated success in working alongside experimental research teams and/or the quantum hardware sector
• Familiarity with circuit-level quantum noise models and evaluating quantum operations
• Skilled in developing scientific code, particularly with Python
• PhD in quantum computing, quantum control, or a related field
• Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities, with published contributions in the research domain
• This position can be located in Hamburg or done remotely; however, candidates must reside in Germany
• Experience with quantum gates in ion trap devices is considered a plus
• Familiarity with Qiskit is also a nice-to-have
